MUSCATINE, Iowa – City of Muscatine offices will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, so that our employees may join with their families, and with Muscatine residents and citizens across the United States, in honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve our freedom.
Administrative offices at Muscatine City Hall will be closed on Monday, May 27, 2019, for Memorial Day. City administrative offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019.
The Recycling Center and Transfer Station along with the Compost Site will also be closed on Monday, May 27, 2019.
There will be no curbside refuse collection on Monday, May 27, 2019. Residents on the Monday route will have their refuse collected on Tuesday (May 28, 2019), along with residents on the normal Tuesday route.
There will be no curbside recycling collection on Monday, May 27, 2019. Curbside recycling collection on the Week “B” route will be pushed back one day (i.e., residents on the Monday Week B route will be collected on Tuesday, Tuesday on Wednesday, Wednesday on Thursday, Thursday on Friday, and Friday on Saturday).
The Musser Public Library and HNI Community Center will be closed on Sunday, May 26, and Monday, May 27. The library will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday, May 28.
The Muscatine Art Center is normally closed on Monday’s and the staff will have Memorial Day off along the majority of City staff. The Art Center will be open normal hours on Saturday, May 25, and Sunday, May 26.
The Weed Park Aquatic Center will be open during the Memorial Day Weekend beginning Saturday, May 25, from 12-8 p.m. The facility is closed on Sunday, May 26, but will be open from 12-8 p.m. on Monday, May 27. The Aquatic Center will be closed May 28-31, open June 1-2, and closed June 3-5, before opening for the season on June 6.
