[ARCHIVED] Muscatine web site is updated, has new look

New Homepage

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The third generation of the City of Muscatine web site was revealed to the public Thursday (Feb. 21) with a fresh new look and easier navigation. The second generation of the web site has served the City, residents, and visitors to Muscatine for the past three years but it was time for an update.

“This is another step in our efforts to keep the City web site up-to-date and easier for individuals of all abilities to use,” Gregg Mandsager, city administrator, said.

Mandsager, Finance Director Nancy Lueck, Information Technology Manager John Kreuzenstein, and Communications Manager Kevin Jenison have been working with the design team from web site host CivicPlus to improve the design and functionality of the web site.

“We will continue to work on improving site content and ease of use as we move forward,” Mandsager said. “Web site navigation is something that we continue to focus on.”

The new web site is designed to work well for desktop, tablet, and mobile phones. With the launch of the redesigned web site, the City is now focusing on the creation of an application that will allow a more efficient two-way communication between the public and City staff.

“We are working toward making communication between the public and the City easier and more efficient than it has been in the past,” Jenison said. “The new app will allow residents a better opportunity to ask questions, raise concerns, or just inform us as to where street problems are occurring.”

Questions and/or comments about the website can be emailed to Jenison.
