MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine City Council wrapped up discussions on the proposed fiscal year 2019-2020 budget Wednesday night. The final two budget sessions, scheduled for Thursday (Feb. 7) and Saturday (Feb. 9) have been cancelled.
The Council will set the date for the public hearing on the proposed budget at the February 14 in-depth meeting. The public hearing is tentatively scheduled for March 7
The City is mandated to have the budget completed and filed with the County Auditor for certification by March 15.
The budget overview along with the various sections of the 2019-2020 proposed budget are available on the City of Muscatine web site. The public will be able to comment and/or ask questions about the proposed budget during the Public Hearing.
