[ARCHIVED] Still time to register for Saturday's Turkey Trot Run

MUSCATINE, Iowa - The 2018 Muscatine “Turkey Trot” Fun Run/Walk will be held this Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course.  The event will be hosted by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department and the Muscatine Running Club.


The format the race will follow is to “Predict Your Time”.  No participant will be allowed to use any kind of a timing device as they compete against each other for the closest predicted time.  The actual time will be recognized as either plus or minus to the predicted time.  No splits will be given.


The cross country course will be set up at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course with two starting times for the races.  Participants 14-years-old and under will run a one (1) mile course that will begin at 10:00 a.m. while participants who are 15-years-old and older will run a three-mile course starting at 10:30 a.m.


Awards will be given in each age division for male and female participants who are the closest to their predicted time.  Frozen turkeys will also be awarded to each of the winners in their respective division but only one (1) turkey can be won per family.


There will be male and female divisions for all ages including 11-year-olds and under, 12- 14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and older.


The entry fee is $20.00 and contestants can register from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on the day of the race at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course. Registration forms can be found at www.muscatineiowa.gov/509/Special-Events. Short sleeve t-shirts will be given to all participants who registered before November 1.  Registrants after that date are not guaranteed t-shirts on the day of the event.
