MUSCATINE, Iowa – West 7th street was reopened to traffic Monday (Oct. 29) from Iowa Avenue to the end of the 300 block including the Chestnut and Pine streets intersections. The intersections of Linn and Spruce remained closed.
The paving is substantially complete from Linn to Locust but that section of 7 th Street will remain closed until the sidewalks and driveways are completed, and the dirt work and seeding behind the curb are completed.
The sanitary and storm sewer installation for Phase 4A of the West Hill Area Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project has been completed on West 7th Street from Iowa Avenue to Locust Street. There is still some sanitary sewer installation work that needs to be done in the 700 block of Locust.
Locust Street from 7th to 8th Streets remains open at the present time. Advance notice will be given to residents when KMA Excavating will return to complete the underground work and that block of Locust will be closed to traffic.
