MUSCATINE, Iowa – Concerns about the weather and the desire to have Mississippi Drive finished completely has delayed the ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the completion of the two-year project. The ceremony was scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 20, at the intersection of Cedar Street and Mississippi Drive, and will be rescheduled for later this month.
Mississippi Drive from Iowa to the #1 Alley on Mulberry Avenue along with the intersections at Sycamore, Cedar, and Walnut will not be cleared for traffic until the completion of the projects’ “punch list” for the first two phases of the Mississippi Drive Corridor Reconstruction Project. The “punch list” was compiled last Friday (Sept. 14).
A new date and time for the ribbon cutting ceremony will be announced at a later date.
