[ARCHIVED] No injuries reported from apartment fire Tuesday morning

MUSCATINE, Iowa – No injuries were reported from an apartment fire Tuesday morning in Muscatine.


The Muscatine Joint Communications Center (MUSCOM) received a 911 call at 8:17 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 14) of an apartment filling with smoke at 606 Pine St. Muscatine Fire Department along with Fruitland Fire Department responded and noticed light smoke coming from the all floors of the structure upon arrival.


Crews searched the second floor and evacuated residents of the below apartment. The fire was isolated to the basement with light smoke damage to all of the apartments. None of the residents were displaced by this fire, however, one occupant was evaluated by EMS for smoke inhalation.


The Muscatine Fire Department was assisted by the Muscatine Police Department and Fruitland Fire Department.  Approximately 13 fire fighters responded from Muscatine Fire Department including some off duty personnel.


The fire remains under investigation by a joint team of Muscatine Police and Muscatine Fire Department.
