[ARCHIVED] Introductory sports program for toddlers, parents to begin Sept. 4

MUSCATINE, Iowa –Sport Starters is an introductory sports program for two- and three-year-olds with their parents sponsored by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department. Participants will work on basic motor skills, socialization, and spend quality time with their parent while playing a variety of sports and games. Parent participation is required for this program.


The program is offered from 5:15-6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, September 4-October 11, outside of the Pearl City Station located in Riverside Park.


The Muscatine Parks and Recreation staff will introduce a different sport each week such as soccer, football, tee-ball, volleyball, and more. Each sport will be supplemented with a few different games to keep the child learning and experiencing teamwork over the course of this 45-minute class.


Registration is underway at the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department office in the lower level of the Muscatine City Hall (215 Sycamore), over the phone at (563) 263-0241, or online at www.muscatineiowa.gov/registration. The resident fee is $25.00 while the non-resident fee is $30.00. Reserve your spot by Monday, August 27.
