MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department invites all five- and six-year-olds to register for the 2018 Tee-Ball program that will be held this summer in Muscatine. The Tee-Ball program is designed to teach the fundamentals of baseball/softball through coached practices and non-competitive games that are incorporated into the program. Players all hit from an adjustable batting tee.
Participants must be age five (5) by June 4, 2018, and all participants will receive a tee-ball T-shirt. Practices and games are conducted at Taylor Park and Kent-Stein Park.
Registration is now available online through the City of Muscatine website, in person at the Parks and Recreation office in the lower level of City Hall, or by phone at (563) 263-0241.
Adults do not have to miss out on the fun this summer, and can bring America’s Pastime to Muscatine by volunteering to be a head or assistant coach for a tee-ball team. Each team will need at least two volunteer coaches. Any adult wishing to volunteer should contact the Parks and Recreation Department at (563) 263-0241 or email at parksoffice@muscatineiowa.gov.
Participants can register for the Monday/Wednesday session (June 4-27) or the Tuesday/Thursday session (June 5-28). Space is limited in each session, so don’t wait to sign your all-star up for this program. Registration is open through May 21, 2018. There is a $30.00 fee for residents and a $35.00 fee for non-residents.
