MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 7) in the City Council Chambers on the second floor of Muscatine City Hall with a rather light agenda but one that includes two proclamations and the swearing in of Assistant Fire Chief Robbie Rock.
Muscatine Mayor Brad Bark will be reading and signing two proclamations Tuesday, declaring October 5-11, 2025, as Fire Prevention Week in Muscatine, and the month of October as National Disability Employment Awareness Month. Mayor Bark will also be announcing the Trick or Treat hours in Muscatine.
Bark will open the meeting by swearing in Robbie Rock as the Muscatine Fire Department Assistant Fire Chief.
On the regular agenda, the City Council will consider:
- Approval of a contract with Boulder Construction, Inc., for the Lake Park Boulevard Mad Creek Bridge Deck Overlay Project.
- Approval of the plans and specifications for the Muscatine Marina Confined Disposal Facility (Dredge Spoils) Relocation Project.
- Accept completed work by Heuer Construction, Inc., for Phase 3 of the West Fulliam Avenue Project.
- Approve the appointment of Richard Hammond as the City of Muscatine Finance Director. Current Finance Director Nancy Lueck will be retiring on October 31.
Public Participation
All City Council meetings are open to the public, providing residents an opportunity to observe, engage, and participate in local government. Residents are encouraged to attend in person at Muscatine City Hall, 215 Sycamore Street. Those unable to attend can watch live broadcasts on Civic-TV (MPW Channel 2) or the City of Muscatine YouTube channel.
