MUSCATINE, Iowa – Travel restrictions will be in place for two Muscatine streets on Saturday, Sept. 27, to accommodate community events.
- Mad Creek 5K (9:30 – 10:30 a.m.)
Park Avenue West will be open from Iowa 38 to the Mad Creek bridge for the 3rd Annual Mad Creek 5K, hosted by Calvary Church but there may be travel restrictions applied as the race progresses. Muscatine Police will be on hand to direct traffic as needed. The race begins and ends at Calvary Church, with runners traveling along the frontage road to Park Avenue West, connecting to the Greenbelt Trail before turning back. - Viva Muscatine Hispanic Heritage Festival (6 a.m. – 8 p.m.)
East 2nd Street will be closed from Cedar Street to Iowa Avenue to support festival setup and activities. The celebration in Downtown Muscatine runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature live music, food and craft vendors, and a Kid Zone.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes during these closures.
