MUSCATINE, Iowa – The streets of Muscatine will be filled with runners, walkers, and plenty of summer spirit this Saturday, August 16, as the 48th annual Watermelon Stampede gets underway.
The event runs from 8 to 10 a.m., and motorists are reminded to watch for participants and expect temporary delays along the race routes.
Both the 5K and 10K races will start and finish at the Muscatine Community YMCA (1823 Logan Street).
- 5K Route: Logan → West Fulliam → Kindler → Lucas → Logan → Newell → Kindler → West Fulliam → Logan → YMCA finish.
- 10K Route: Logan → West Fulliam → Kindler → Lucas → Houser (turnaround before Cedar Plaza Drive) → return via Houser → Lucas → West 8th Street → Newell Avenue → Kindler → West Fulliam → Logan → YMCA finish.
