MUSCATINE, Iowa - With sunny skies and warm spring temperatures in the forecast, the City of Muscatine invites residents and visitors to get outside and explore our beautiful city parks this weekend.
Join the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Get Outside Club at Musser Park on Saturday, May 17, from 1 to 3 p.m. for an afternoon of outdoor fun. The event is free and open to all.
The Get Outside Club is a family-friendly initiative encouraging children and families to spend more time outdoors in 2025 — with a goal of logging 300 hours outside this year! Each gathering includes games, activities, and opportunities to explore different parks across the city.
“There's no better time to enjoy all that our parks have to offer,” said Blake Allington, Parks and Recreation Program Supervisor. “We hope families will take advantage of the fresh air, sunshine, and the incredible public spaces right in their neighborhoods.”
Musser Park offers a range of amenities for all ages and abilities, including:
- Expanded all-abilities playground
- Baseball/softball field
- Muscatine Skate Park
- Muscatine Mini-Pitch soccer area
- Access to the Riverfront Trail and surrounding trail network
- Clean, well-maintained facilities open daily from dawn to dusk
Whether you're planning a family picnic, a quiet walk, or a friendly basketball game, Muscatine parks provide the perfect backdrop for outdoor recreation, relaxation, and connection.
As always, visitors are encouraged to respect park rules, dispose of waste properly, and share the space courteously with others.
