MUSCATINE, Iowa – The City of Muscatine will hold a public meeting to discuss Phase 6D of the West Hill Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, May 19, at Longview Park, located between West Fulliam Avenue and Stone Street.
Phase 6D marks the penultimate stage of the long-running West Hill Sewer Separation Project. This phase includes the installation of new sanitary and storm sewers, roadway reconstruction, and the removal of deteriorated sections of the Upper West Branch Sewer Tunnel.
The construction area will encompass:
- All of Hagerman Drive
- Eisenhower Street
- Devitt Avenue (from Eisenhower Street to Newell Avenue)
- Logan Street (from St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery to Newell Avenue)
The Muscatine City Council awarded the construction contract to KE Flatworks, Inc. of Elbridge, Iowa, during its April 17, 2025, meeting. The contract totals $4,263,028.47.
Construction is scheduled to begin on June 2, 2025, and will proceed in four stages, with project completion anticipated in late November 2026.
