Memorial Day 2020 C (City offices closed) (JPG)MUSCATINE, Iowa – Curbside collection of refuse, yard waste, bulky waste, and recycling will not be conducted on Monday, May 31, as City of Muscatine staff pauses and reflects on Memorial Day with individuals across the country in remembrance of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation. City offices will also be closed on Monday.

 

The City encourages residents to pause, at some point during Memorial Day, and remember those that made the ultimate sacrifice to preserve the freedoms we enjoy.

 

There will be no curbside refuse or yard waste collection on Monday, May 31. Residents on the Monday route will have their refuse collected on Tuesday, June 1, along with the regular Tuesday route. 

 

There will be no curbside recycling collection on Monday, May 31. Residents on Monday’s “A” recycling route will be collected on Tuesday, June 1, with Tuesday’s route collected on Wednesday, Wednesday’s on Thursday, Thursday’s on Friday, and Friday’s on Saturday.

 

There will be no bulky waste collection on Monday, May 31, or Tuesday, June 1. To schedule a bulky waste collection, call 563-264-5865 or email bulkywaste@muscatineiowa.gov.

 

Administrative offices at Muscatine City Hall will reopen at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 1.

 

The Compost Facility will also be closed on Monday, May 31. The Facility will reopen on Tuesday, June 1. Please remember that only those with a Compost Facility sticker are allowed to bring yard waste to the facility at this time.
