MUSCATINE, Iowa - The City of Muscatine has several full and part time employment opportunities available including many opportunities for seasonal positions at the Muscatine Municipal Golf Course and with other divisions of the Parks and Recreation Department.
The Transfer Station, Muscatine Fire Department, Muscatine Police Department, and the Musser Public Library & HNI Community Center also have part-time and full-time positions available.
The Muscatine Municipal Golf Course is looking to fill a variety of positions this summer including groundskeepers, equipment operators, golf course outside services, and clubhouse supervisor. These are among the positions available within the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department are looking for a few dependable and hardworking individuals to fill seasonal positions. This is a great opportunity for the college student to earn some extra money during the summer break, or for individuals looking for additional opportunities this summer.
Musser Public Library is looking for a part-time Library Assistant who will provide patron reference and technology assistance, and assist the Reference and Circulation staff as needed. A college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
The Transfer Station is seeking a part-time, seasonal Compost Site Technician. This is a customer service, clerical position monitoring activity at the compost site. Work involves responsibility for greeting and directing customers, taking payments, and monitoring proper disposal of compost site materials.
The Transfer Station is also seeking to create a list of individuals who would be willing to serve as substitute refuse collectors. Hours will vary depending on need.
The Muscatine Fire Department is taking applications for an Ambulance Assistant and Firefighter.
The Ambulance Attendant responds to medical emergencies, non-emergency calls, and stands by at fire scenes and at community events to respond to medical emergencies. This is part-time on an on call basis, and will be called to work as needed by the department but must be available at least 24 hours per month on average.
The Muscatine Fire Department is also currently compiling a list of potential candidates to become a member of the department. This is skilled fire fighter work performed as part of the Public safety operations of the City. Work involves the performance of related emergency and non-emergency fire and medical duties in line with departmental operations, as well as maintenance of all firefighting and medical equipment, building and grounds.
The Muscatine County Joint Communications Center (MUSCOM) is taking applications for current openings and to establish an eligibility list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher. Job duties include, but are not limited to, answering emergency and non-emergency phone calls and processing requests for assistance for law enforcement, fire and medical services.
