MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine City Council, Muscatine School Board, and the Muscatine County Board of Supervisors will hold a rare joint session on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, to hear updates on housing, Deep Lake Park development, and the Muscatine Levee Improvement Project.
The meeting will be held virtually with the public welcomed to attend. Details to joining the meeting are listed below. The meeting will also be broadcast live on the City of Muscatine YouTube Channel and on Cable Channel 2.
City of Muscatine Community Development Director Jodi Royal-Goodwin will lead a presentation on Data and Strategy of Igniting Community Vitality through Housing. The discussion will revolve around housing opportunities in the community and a proposed collaborative process and strategies for collectively addressing housing needs.
Muscatine County Conservation Director Curt Weiss will be joined by City of Muscatine Engineer Pat Lynch, and City of Muscatine Water and Resource Recovery Facility Director Jon Koch on a presentation of the current and future development at Deep Lakes Park along with a preliminary discussion on extending city services (water and sewer) to the park.
A presentation on the Muscatine Levee Improvement Project by Muscatine County Board of Supervisor members Jeff Sorensen and Santos Saucedo will round out the evening. Updates on legislative and funding activities to advance the project.
