MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine City Council will preside over three public hearings during its Thursday (March 18, 2021) regular session including two on the City of Muscatine budget.
The Muscatine City Council will meet virtually for their regular session starting at 7 p.m. Thursday. Information on joining the session and how to make a comment during the meeting is listed below. The session will also be broadcast live on the City of Muscatine YouTube channel and on Muscatine Power & Water Cable Channel 2.
The first public hearing concerns the Fiscal Year 2021-2022 City of Muscatine budget. This is the final step before the Council adopts the budget that will begin July 1, 2021 and run through June 30, 2022. The Council held budget review sessions in January and February following months of work by City staff to develop the new budget. Public comment on the proposed budget is encouraged during the public hearing using the GoToMeeting link information below.
The second public hearing concerns Amendment #1 to the Fiscal Year 2020-2021 budget that ends on June 30, 2021. Several changes in the current budget were discussed and are scheduled to be adopted by City Council following the required public hearing. Public comment on the proposed amendment to the current budget is encouraged during the public hearing using the GoToMeeting link information below.
The third public hearing concerns a development agreement with JNP Family 1, LP, and Alex Foundation, for the construction for 42 units of rental housing on Steamboat Way for low and moderate income individuals and families.
