City Council Virtual Session (JPG)

MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine City Council will hear two reports during its Thursday (March 11, 2021) in-depth session including possible legislation that would be needed to allow e-scooters to be used in the City of Muscatine.

The Muscatine City Council will meet virtually for their regular session starting at 7 p.m. Thursday. Information on joining the session and how to make a comment during the meeting is listed below. The session will also be broadcast live on the City of Muscatine YouTube channel and on Muscatine Power & Water Cable Channel 2.

Assistant Community Development Director Andrew Fangman will discuss with Council possible legislations and other activities that would be needed to enable the use of e-scooters in the City of Muscatine. The discussion follows a presentation at the January 10, 2021, in-depth meeting by Kate Shoemaker, senior account executive for Global Expansion at Bird, Inc., on the potential for electronic scooters in Muscatine.

Community Development Director Jodi Royal-Goodwin will provide Council with an update on the initial steps that are being taken to develop strategies and goals for the revitalization effort of the south end. The two year program seeks to gain insight into the needs of the south end area of Muscatine and the development of plans to address those needs.
