MUSCATINE, Iowa – The weather forecast for later this week may not be conducive to joint cleaning and sealing according to KE Flatworks, Inc., so parking restrictions on West 8th Street have been pushed back until next week.

KE Flatworks, Inc., now plans to clean and seal the joints in the driving lanes of West 8th Street from Iowa Avenue to Linn Street starting Monday, December 21, 2020. Parking will be prohibited in the three block section to allow the work to be completed in a timely matter, weather permitting. Drivers are urged to use caution when travelling in this area as lane restrictions may also be place as the work progresses on both sides of the street.

This is the last of the cleanup work to be accomplished before closing out Phase 4 of the West Hill Sanitary and Storm Sewer Separation Project.

KE Flatwork, Inc., will be cleaning the joints and tarring the joints this week with no parking signs put in place over the weekend for the three blocks of West 8th Street. Cleaning the joints will begin Monday and wrap up Tuesday with joint sealing taking over on Tuesday and wrapping up on Wednesday, weather permitting.
