MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Park Avenue 4-to-3 Conversion Project heads into the winter shutdown period starting Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, as the traffic control devices are scheduled to be removed by the end of the work day.
Full depth patching, curb and gutter work, ADA sidewalk ramps, and some sidewalk replacement has been completed by Heuer Construction, Inc., with cleaning of the area to be completed Wednesday morning in Phases 1A and 1B. This phase of the project included East 2nd Street from Cypress Street to the Park Avenue/East 4th Street intersection.
All lanes will be open to traffic starting Wednesday evening.
Work on the traffic signal at Cypress and 2nd Street may be completed in late December depending on the weather with some lane restrictions possible during the work.
The project will resume in Spring 2021 with full depth patching, curb and gutter work, and ADA sidewalk ramp installation scheduled from East 2nd Street to Colorado.
