MUSCATINE, Iowa - The City of Muscatine has several part time employment opportunities available including Inspector II in the Community Development Department, Office Assistant with the Housing Department, a lab technician with the Water and Resource Recovery Facility, and many opportunities for Recreational Program instructors with the Parks and Recreation Department.

 

Inspector II is a 25-hour per week skilled office and field inspection position working to secure compliance with state and municipal codes, ordinances, and regulations pertaining to the construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, and change in occupancy of buildings and structures including electrical, plumbing, heating, and air conditioning systems.

 

Office Assistant is a half time clerical position in the Housing Department assisting Housing and Community Development staff with day-to-day operations, and providing excellent customer service while dealing with the public.

 

Lab Tech I works under general supervision and is responsible for analytical work related to the analysis of water, wastewater, storm water, and environmental samples for the City of Muscatine’s Water Pollution Control Plant.

 

Recreational Program Instructors require the ability to work with children of all ages and/or experience in teaching or coaching. The Parks and Recreation Department maintains a list of instructors that can lead seasonal programs when they are offered.
