MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Walking Club, sponsored by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department, is beginning a new registration season. Everyone is eligible to join the free club that focuses on encouraging walking through challenges and programs.

Participants may walk anywhere they like, inside, outside or on a treadmill, and submit their minutes for a chance to win weekly prizes. Walkers may submit their exercise by recording their minutes walked at the Walking Club Kiosk in the Center Court of the Muscatine Mall, by emailing Parks and Recreation Department Staff at parksoffice@muscatineiowa.gov, or by contacting the office at (563) 263-0241.

Want to be a part of the competition for the weekly incentive prizes for walking each week? It is easy. Just register for the Walking Club by contacting the Parks and Recreation Department at 263-0241, by email at parksoffice@muscatineiowa.gov or by visiting the Walking Club webpage. Participants who had registered for the club previously are asked to re-submit their details.

The current Walking Club program is the ongoing Million Minute Challenge. All minutes recorded will go toward a collective goal of walking for one million minutes. Participants new and old are encouraged to join to help the club reach their goal.
