MUSCATINE, Iowa – Members of the Muscatine Walking Club are well on their way to walking toward the group goal of one million minutes. With building closures lifted by the Governor of Iowa, the Walking Club Kiosk and Message Center have been reopened in the Muscatine Mall.

This growing club of over 1,000 members will work together to see how long it will take for the group to walk for a total of one million minutes. Participants may again record their minutes walked at the Walking Club Kiosk in the Center Court of the Muscatine Mall. Walkers may also submit their minutes via email to parksoffice@muscatineiowa.gov or over the phone by calling (563) 263-0241.

The Walking Club is a free program sponsored by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department that allows members to walk anywhere they like, inside, outside, or on a treadmill, and submit their minutes for a chance to win weekly incentive prizes.

Want to be a part of the competition for our weekly incentive prizes for walking each week?  It is easy.  Just register for the Walking Club by contacting the Parks and Recreation Department at 263-0241 or by email at parksoffice@muscatineiowa.gov.
