MUSCATINE, Iowa – A new modular three-season restroom was delivered and installed on Friday at the Weed Park Lagoon Shelter site following a month of site preparation by City staff. Todd Hackett Construction Company had the winning bid of $45,000 to provide the modular facility.
The addition of the Lagoon Shelter facility is just one of two restroom projects currently underway at Weed Park by the Parks and Recreation Department. The Rose Garden facility is also being refurbished as part of a $143,400 project to improve the facilities in Weed Park.
The addition of the Lagoon Shelter facility and the refurbishing of the Rose Garden facility meets a need identified in the City of Muscatine Comprehensive Plan. Weed Park also has a restroom facility available during normal operations at the Aquatic Center, and a portable unit at the sand volleyball courts that is available from May to August.
Work to complete the installation of the Lagoon Shelter facility is currently underway as is the refurbishing of the Rose Garden facility.
