MUSCATINE, Iowa – The opportunity to learn the fundamentals of softball through hitting, throwing and fielding will be presented during the Softball Skills Clinic offered by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department this February. Trained staff will lead the participants in this instructional program on Sunday evenings in the West Middle School Large Gymnasium Feb. 2-23.
Classes for girls in the first and second grades will take place at 4:00 p.m. while third and fourth grade participants will play at 5:00 p.m., and fifth and sixth grade girls at 6:00 p.m. Participants will need to bring a glove and a bat to each class.
Registration is now available with a $25.00 fee for Muscatine residents and a $30.00 fee for non-residents. All participants will receive a tee-shirt. Parents may reserve a place for their child over the phone at (563) 263-0241, in-person at the Parks and Recreation Department office, or online at www.muscatineiowa.gov/registration. The registration deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27.
