MUSCATINE, Iowa – Leaf collection efforts by Department of Public Works (DPW) crews moved into Zone 5 Thursday (Dec. 12). Once crews have completed work in that zone, they will move into Zone 6 and Zone 7, respectively, to complete the third round of the collection program. (see map).
Allied Waste has notified the City of Muscatine Solid Waste Division that it was unable to complete the Thursday curbside recycling route. The start of collection efforts on that route was delayed as Allied Waste had to finish Wednesday’s route early Thursday morning. Areas not completed include Fulliam Street, the cul-de-sac and dead ends off of Fulliam, Foster Street, West Bay Drive, one side of Houser Street and two dead ends off of Houser Street.
Allied Waste is expected to have additional help on Friday to complete the Thursday route and to complete the Friday route on time.
