MUSCATINE, Iowa – Santa Claus will be sending his elves down to Riverside Park on December 6 to hide thousands of candy canes as the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department hosts their annual Candy Cane Hunt.
The community is invited to come and join in on some deliciously good fun down on the riverfront with the hunt officially getting underway at 6 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6 outside the Pearl City Station in Riverside Park.
Children will be able to gather sweet treats to keep, and will receive a prize for each candy cane found. “Special” candy canes will also be sprinkled around that can be redeemed inside Pearl City Station for a special toy.
Areas will be set up in the green space near the basketball courts for girls and boys in two age groups including pre-kindergarten through first grade and second through fourth grade.
The Candy Cane Hunt will be held in the dark, so bring a flashlight if you wish. LED flashlights will be available from our sponsors if you do not have one. Participants are encouraged to bring a bag to hold their candy canes and prizes.
