MUSCATINE, Iowa – Muscatine Power & Water (MPW) repaired a water main break in the 100 block of East 3rd Street (between Iowa Avenue and Sycamore Street) Saturday night (October 19) with the west bound lane closed to traffic Sunday and Monday.
MPW will close the 100 block of East 3rd Street starting on Tuesday, October 22, 2019, to repair the pavement damaged by the water main break. The length of the closure is dependent on the repairs needed and the weather.
Drivers are asked to find alternate routes of travel while this block of East 3rd Street is closed and to always use caution when driving near construction areas.
The same section of street was closed on September 9, 2019, for four weeks as an upgrade to the water line severing the Hershey Building was completed. The one block section was reopened on October 10, 2019.
