[ARCHIVED] Sports, games, and fun for toddlers and their parents

MUSCATINE, Iowa –Sport Starters is an introductory sports program for two- and three-year-old children with their parents. Registration is now underway for this innovative program sponsored by the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department.


Participants in Sport Starters will work on basic motor skills and socialization while spending quality time with their parent playing a variety of sports and games. Parent participation is required for this program.


The Muscatine Parks and Recreation staff will introduce a different sport each week including soccer, football, tee-ball, volleyball, and more. Each sport will be supplemented with a few different games to keep the child learning and experiencing during each 45-minute session. The class meets outside of the Pearl City Station inside Riverside Park with classes held on Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 6:15 p.m.


Sport Starters (PNG)Visit the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department office in the lower level of City Hall, 215 Sycamore Street, to register for this class. You can also register over the phone at (563) 263-0241, and online at https://apm.activecommunities.com/muscatine/Home. The resident fee is $25.00 while the non-resident fee is $30.00. Deadline to reserve your spot on the roster is 5 p.m. on Friday, August 30, 2019.
