[ARCHIVED] Road work to impact Monday commute in Muscatine

Traffic Alert

MUSCATINE, Iowa – Road work in two areas of Muscatine will result in delays for drivers throughout the day on Monday, July 15, 2019.

The Street Maintenance Department will begin joint sealing operations on Cedar Street between Wood Creek Lane and the roundabout at Logan Street on Monday, July 15. Drivers can expect delays as traffic will be reduced to one lane during the operation. Joint sealing is expected to be completed in two-to-three (2-3) days.

Illowa Investments will be laying asphalt at the intersection of University Drive and Highway 22 on Monday, July 15, as part of the Iowa Department of Transportation (DOT) project to repave Highway 22 that began last year. Eastbound traffic on University Drive will be detoured to Colorado. Traffic on Highway 22 may see lane restrictions throughout the day.

The intersection will remain closed until the asphalt is cool enough to drive on. Drivers should expect delays and plan on using alternate routes of travel on Monday.

Please be patient and use caution when driving in or around construction areas.

NORTH HOUSER STREET CLOSED STARTING JULY 15

North Houser Street from Lucas Street to Hershey Avenue will be closed to traffic starting Monday, July 15, 2019, for the full depth patching project. Drivers are asked to use the marked detours to avoid this construction area, and plan on using alternate routes. This section of North Houser Street will remain closed until tiling and the full depth patching project has been completed.
