MUSCATINE, Iowa – Water main work as part of the West Hill Sewer Separation Project will temporarily close the 700 block of Chestnut Street and the intersection with 8th Street on Thursday and Friday (June 13-14).
KMA Excavating, the sub-contractor doing the underground work as part of Phase 4B of the West Hill Sewer Separation Project, will reduce the intersection of Chestnut and 8th streets to one lane on Thursday for water main replacement. The lane reduction will result in the closure of access to the 800 block of Chestnut Street from West 8th Street for most of the day.
Work will continue on Friday when the 700 block of Chestnut Street will be closed for water main replacement. Alley access will also be closed. All vehicles must be off the 700 block of Chestnut Street by 7 a.m. Friday. It is anticipated that work will be completed and the street reopened at the end of the day.
