MUSCATINE, Iowa – The northwest leg of the Mulberry Avenue–2nd Street roundabout is scheduled to be closed to traffic from Wednesday, Nov. 19, through Monday, Nov. 24, pending approval by the Muscatine City Council at its November 18 meeting.
Mulberry Avenue will be closed from the roundabout to East 3rd Street while CDB Utility Contractors dig small test holes to locate and verify the position of an existing gas line ahead of upcoming fiber installation work.
During the closure:
- Southbound traffic on Mulberry Avenue will be detoured to East 3rd Street, then to Walnut Street, and onto East 2nd Street before returning to the roundabout.
- Northbound traffic will detour west on East 2nd Street, then north on Walnut Street, and east on East 3rd Street to reconnect with Mulberry Avenue.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and use alternate routes until work is complete. The City of Muscatine appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during this necessary infrastructure improvement.
