MUSCATINE, Iowa – A Muscatine man is in custody and is being charged with murder following a homicide investigation Friday (Feb. 7, 2025) by the Muscatine Police Department.
At approximately 8:04 a.m. today (February 7, 2025), the Muscatine Police Department responded to the report of a possible homicide at 208 ½ East 2nd Street in downtown Muscatine. When officers arrived, they found the body of Michael Anthony Enriquez, 25, (DOB 08/24/99), deceased in the third-floor hallway of 210 East 2nd Street. Enriquez had been shot multiple times.
A person of interest was quickly established and efforts began to locate the individual. At approximately 12:09 p.m., investigators received information that led them to believe that the suspect was at 109 East 4th Street in Muscatine. The residence was quickly secured by officers and, after a few minutes of being on scene, the suspect voluntarily came out of the residence and surrendered without incident.
Francisco Nunez Garcia, 37, (DOB 11/30/87) has been charged with Murder in the Second Degree, a Class B Felony, and is being held at the Muscatine County Jail.
