MUSCATINE, Iowa – The Muscatine Power and Water (MPW) Communications Department will be restricting traffic on Mississippi Drive from Ash to Broadway streets today (Oct. 15, 2020), and will continue the lane restrictions for the work during the night on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2020. The lane restrictions will move down to the area between Broadway and Linn streets on Thursday, October 22, 2020.
The eastbound (upriver) lane of Mississippi Drive from Ash to Broadway will be closed to traffic from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, and from 12:01 a.m. to 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The lane closure will reduce traffic from three lanes to two with the eastbound traffic diverted into the center turn lane and back into the eastbound lane before the median just east of Broadway Street.
The work will moved down to the area between Broadway and Linn streets with the (upriver) lane of Mississippi Drive closed to traffic between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Flaggers will be present to direct traffic.
Once work has been completed for the day the lane restriction will be removed.
Drivers are urged to slow down, watch for traffic control devices, and use caution when travelling through this area. Use alternate routes if possible. All work is weather dependent
