Grandview Corridor Business Assistance Program

The City of Muscatine is opening round two of a forgivable loan program to assist small businesses significantly impacted by street reconstruction work on and along the Grandview Avenue Corridor who also continue to be impacted by the pandemic. While the City encourages and supports the success of all businesses in the community, the Grandview Corridor Business Assistance program is intended to assist previously stable, small businesses manage the dual impact of the public health crisis and major street project that severely restricted access to their business.

The program will provide up to $10,000 to assist eligible small businesses that experienced decreases in income due to the pandemic and then further revenue losses during the Grandview reconstruction project. To be eligible for the program’s second round of funding businesses must:

·         Be located immediately adjacent to Grandview Avenue between Canal and Houser Streets; 

·         Open for business no later than March 1, 2019; and

·         Located in the Grandview Corridor on or before January 1, 2022.

Grant awards will based on a number of factors, including but not limited to documented revenue losses, type of business, and access limitations during construction. Awards will be provided as a forgivable loan and can be used for normal business expenses such as: rent or mortgage, business insurance premiums, commercial real estate property taxes, utilities, personnel expenses, and inventory.
